Rosie Cavin
Hello! My name is Rosie and I love to travel! I also love sharing my passion for exploring this beautiful world of ours. The travel industry has enabled me to combine those loves and share my vast experiences and adventures with clients who have not only become repeat customers, but also wonderful friends along the way. It all started a few years back in my home country of Germany. It was 1977 and I was given an opportunity to work for the USO on the Army Base where my Husband was stationed. Because of my knowledge of the local area, I excelled at organizing bus tours and trips for soldiers and their families. Often, I would be the tour guide at the front of the bus with the microphone extolling the beauty of Bavaria and the Black Forest! I thoroughly enjoyed planning and escorting these early trips throughout Europe. Next came an opportunity to work on an Italian Cruise Ship. The Travel Bug was in my system at this point – I loved what I was doing, even though back then we had to confirm arrangements by telegrams and hand write actual tickets! Planning and facilitating those group shore excursions inspired me to become a professional Travel Agent. I received a degree in Travel and Tourism Management in Germany and later became a Certified Travel Associate (CTA) in the US. I enjoy doing the research that goes into planning a tailored trip for each of my clients. Being responsive and knowledgeable about local resources and having extensive contacts in the industry help to make their travel plans a reality. Of course, having experienced many destinations firsthand is a valuable asset. You see, I had my first white water rafting experience in the Himalayas! How? By arranging a trip for a group of carpet importers to go all the way to Nepal in the Himalayan mountains where we split the time between carpet buying and sightseeing in that amazing country. While living in Cairo, Egypt for two years I had the chance to explore that historic country and the nearby countries of Israel and Jordan and the city of Dubai in the UAE. South Africa? Been there too - four of us did a self-guided safari in Kruger National Park! One of my favorite aspects of travel is planning custom itineraries around the world for my clients. Trips like a 6-week trip to Australia, New Zealand and Tasmania for a solo female traveler and an Antarctic Expedition for a client who wanted to follow in the footsteps of Scott and Shackleton! I've even planned trips for individuals that wanted to walk the El Camino in Spain. Lately I have been specializing in luxury cruises and expedition tours with more unusual itineraries. Are you ready to come and explore the world with me?
