*About Your Equipment...

British Air Baggage Allowance Included in your Price
 1 checked bag, not to exceed 35.5" x 29.5" x 16" and 51 lbs.
 1 carry-on bag, not to exceed 22" x 18" x 10" and 51 lbs.
 1 personal item, not to exceed 16" x 12" x 6" and 51 lbs.

Take it with you

Your British Air tickets include one checked bag, one carry-on bag that must fit in the overhead compartment and one personal item to carry on.  One extra checked bag costs $100 in each direction, so $200 round trip. Checking a ski bag and a boot bag would count as 2 extra pieces. BA recommends that you take your boot bag as your carry on if you're taking your own equipment in order to keep the cost down. The BA website actually says "for safety reasons, you are not allowed to wear your ski boots on to the plane". I guess enough people tried it that they had to put it in writing! A ski bag can not exceed 75" x 29.5" by 25.5" and would be available to claim in the Oversized Luggage area of the baggage claim hall.

Rent it there

Club Med has a huge assortment of equipment available at all performance levels. An Easy Ski  link will be available to each member of the group that will give you the ability to provide personal information (height, weight, boot size, skill level) prior to arriving at the resort. Using this link, you can rent your equipment ahead of time and have it waiting for you at the ski shop upon your arrival. The equipment is priced according to its performance value, but in past years it cost about the same as taking your own.

Maximum way to economize, take your boots as carry on and rent your skis there.
